On 18 th July 2019, USG Boral Malaysia was entrusted to conduct the first IBS Talk session organized by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia. The two-hour session, held from 10:00am to 12:00pm at CIDB’s IBS Centre, was attended by 81 industry players - comprised mainly of developers & contractors.
The main focus of this talk was to highlight IBS Drywall's improvements on Constructability, Workability, Profitability, and Suitability towards the development of Malaysia’s construction industry. As the forefront expert and industry leader in drywall systems, it came to no surprise that USG Boral Malaysia was assigned to spearhead this session and to share our expertise with the attendees. The main speaker for the session was USG Boral Malaysia’s Head of Technical - Mr. Brian Wong, who shared in-depth insights and knowledge on drywall systems, as well as how USG Boral's drywall systems help developers or contractors to score IBS points for their projects. In addition, Mr. Brian Wong also presented some of the key benefits such as how the lightweight and fast-track materials help developers to save structural costs and complete projects faster - thus giving them more profit, in its efforts to ensure that the industry remains robust and competitive.
Besides the talk session, USG Boral invited all attendees to visit our booth located at the CIDB IBS Gallery which showcased our drywall systems. We had a Q&A session to answer the queries that were posted by the attendees. Many of the participants showed interest in understanding more about USG Boral Malaysia’s drywall systems and the various benefits that they offer.
This IBS Talk session proved that CIDB acknowledges USG Boral Malaysia as one of the qualified IBS construction solutions suppliers in the country, playing a major role in continually propelling the industry to greater heights.
